Senator Douglas McCrory re-election kick-off

Senator Douglas McCrory announced his intention to seek re-election for the 2nd Senate district, representing residents from Hartford Bloomfield, and Windsor.

During his re-election announcement, McCrory stated "Last year, I worked hard to ensure our communities voices were heard at the state capitol. We secured nearly a million dollars in local school mental health specialist support, launched school transparency initiatives, expanded free school lunch programs, and brought millions in investments to Hartford, Windsor and Bloomfield to improve our infrastructure and services for seniors and Veterans. 

We accomplished a lot together last year, and there’s still so much that I know we can accomplish in 2024."

McCrory kicked off his campaign at Red Rock Cafe in Hartford, surrounded by friends and family supporting his campaign. "Thank you for coming out to support my re-election campaign" McCrory said. "It has been an honor and a privilege serving all of you at our state capitol, to ensure our communities voice is heard."

Senator McCrory has been serving since 2017, when he won the seat in a special election. Doug has been an educator for over 30 years. Beginning as a teacher at Sarah J. Rawson Elementary School, he has also taught at and served as vice principal at Lewis Fox Middle School.
